PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The final objective of of the project phase is the market validation for the subsequent introduction of the eVALUES service in a refined way and replicated in different countries (in principle two full pilots will be deployed -in Italy and Spain-, even if with different scopes) for the sight-impaired European citizens (i.e. service that enable them to download and 'listen' to documents through mobile devices).

In order to do so, a main trial group constituted by UIC, plus additional secondary users from ONCE, will try the pilot service implemented in the eVALUES market validation phase. Feedback will be reported with further conclusions for the exploitation and the further development of the service, should the viability be confirmed.

Exploitation of the service would be studied during this phase of the project, including the basic requirements to succeed in a full deployment environment. This project phase is crucial to access markets, for both the inherent risk in the early stage of the service introduction, and the future direction to be impressed in terms of serving the needs for user interface (vocal) paradigms that can be enabled for disabled and elderly user categories.

The project is helping to build upon the state of the art vocal technologies matured from a long R&D excellence at Loquendo, combined with an attentive analysis of the demand and the future needs in Europe.
